Have you ever felt like you're right where you belong? I have, and it is a wonderful feeling. I created this blog to write about my adventures at Wichita State, and this past Tuesday I learned that Wichita State is where I belong. It was my first "adventure" earlier this week: orientation.
The truth is, the actual orientation presentations were kind of blah, but as I was walking around campus I pictured myself walking to classes, eating at the student center, shopping at the bookstore, and everything just felt right. It was a whole new level of excitement, nothing remotely close to the excitement I had when I started at Northwest.
One of the main moments that made me truly feel like I was in the right place was in the academic session in the College of Health Professions building, Ahlberg Hall. We went to see a presentation about advising and such. After it was over, my academic advisor saw my name tag, (which just said Laura P.), and asked if I was Laura Phillips. Side note: I had only talked to Ms. Raburn on the phone one time, when she helped me register for classes, and we had talked about starting a Pre-PA club. She said she needed to see me and talk about the club and how it was progressing. The fact that she came up to me made me feel like Wichita State is where I belong. I am so excited to move to Wichita in August.
